Exciting Announcements

In our July board meeting, Azin Sharifi gave a brief presentation on the nonprofit she founded and requested ICA's support in promoting it. Her organization, Armin's Foundation, is named in memory of her late son and is dedicated to teaching Farsi to young people and building schools in impoverished areas of Iran. A suggestion was made to add a business directory page to our website. The goal of this page is to help our users connect with Iranian resources within our community. Have you ever wondered how many Iranian restaurants, dentists, lawyers, doctors, engineers, and artists are in Columbus alone? It’s always helpful to access services where you can speak Farsi and make personal connections. To be clear, this page is not an advertisement for anyone's business. It's merely a directory. If businesses wish to be listed on the homepage by sponsoring the organization they should reach out to secretary@icacolumbusoh.org for information.

At this time, the business directory page is in the final stages of development and once it is up and running, users can scroll through the different businesses in the community. In addition, if you have a business that you would like listed on the page, it costs nothing to fill out the form and see it listed within a few days.

I have a few other updates to share with you. This year, unlike the past few years, ICA will hold its Chaharshanbe Soori event. We will announce the details in a separate email. I want to thank Dr. Shokouh-Amiri's effort who was instrumental in getting this project off the ground. I can't wait to see you there at our fire-jumping tradition. Finally, ICA will have a regular poetry gathering for those who love poems and Iranian poets. More details will be shared but first gathering of the year will be geared in September.
